A friendly reminder — we have just one week until the beginning of my Hobo and Tramp seminar at the Newberry Library!
We’ll be reading Jim Tully, Ben Reitman, and Jack London as well as some great Charles Kerr titles. We’ll be looking at the Newberry’s extensive collection of Dil Pickle Club and Industrial Workers of the World materials and we’ll also take a tour of Towertown! The seminar is a unique opportunity to learn about this part of Chicago’s past.
Class starts on Wed., June 8, from 6:00-7:30 PM, and last 8 weeks. You can register online, up to the first day, or just drop by for the first session and register then! Details are on the Newberry’s website.
